Mid way through recording the Harmonium Diaries series, I realised that maybe an album a month of solo ambient harmonium pieces was probably going to be too much for many people to digest, and I came up with the idea of compiling my favourite pieces from each album into a single album. While it may act as a nice sampler for people to get a flavour of the series, it also has the advantage of showing the growth of the series in terms of both composition and production. While compiling the album, I was surprised at the difference of production through the months, with the later part of the series taking on a far more atmospheric sound. As is to be expected in such a project, my playing improved over the months, and each album introduced a technical advance.
